LEAD Inspector Refresher Course
Each refresher course, consisting of eight hours of discussion and review of the Lead Inspector Training, will provide the student with the most current information on industry regulations and practices affecting each discipline. Students may take the refresher training from MISERS Occupational Safety Training even if their original certification was obtained from another training center and that training center training meets the Colorado Department of Public Health and Environments REGULATION NUMBER 19, THE CONTROL OF LEAD HAZARDS or was an EPA approved training for the control of lead based paint hazards.

All Courses begin at 8:00am unless otherwise noted. Registration begins at 7:45.
A minimum of 5 Students are required for each course.

Lead Inspector, Initial Course Sept 29 to Oct 1, 2010

Lead Inspector, Initial Course, 24 hours.
This 3-day course is Colorado Department of Public Health and Environment accredited/approved. The course content includes: background information on lead; uses of lead; health effects of lead; regulatory review pertaining to lead-based paint; roles and responsibilities of lead-based paint inspector; lead-based paint, dust, soil and other inspection methodologies; building construction and components related to lead-based paint; clearance standards and testing, interpretation of lead sampling results; formulation and implementation of the final inspection report; record keeping; and an introduction to risk assessment and lead hazard screen protocol. The course includes 8 hours of hands-on activities including inspection methods, sampling methodologies, lab results interpretation, and inspection reporting. In addition to the course notebook, each attendee will receive a copy of the 1997 HUD Guidelines for The evaluation and Control of Lead Based Paint Hazards in Housing and a Lead Reference Guide.

Lead Risk Assessor Initial Course Oct 4-5, 2010

Lead Risk Assessor Certification Course
Prerequisite - Lead Inspector
This 2-day course requires that the LEAD INSPECTOR Course be completed prior to enrolling in the Risk Assessor course. A valid inspector course compleation certificate is required.
This course is Colorado Department of Public Health and Environment accredited/approved and is designed to meet the EPA Model State Program requirements for Lead Risk Assessor. This course will present the HUD revised methods for Lead Risk Assessment Screen and Full Risk Assessment. These are methods of onsite investigations of a residential dwelling to discover lead based paint hazards. In addition to the course information in Lead Inspector, the course content includes: lead risk assessment protocol; collecting background information on the property and occupants; visual inspection and assessment; sampling for lead exposures (paint, wipe, soil and other); interpretation of sample results; over-view of O&M program; interim controls; hazard control options; record-keeping; risk assessment report; and liability, insurance and public relations issues. The course includes 4 hours of hands-on activities including sampling, interpretation of sampling results, and assessment activities.
